五月的一天，天气晴朗，爸爸驱车带我们一家来到重庆市郊的大足县，去游览著名的世界自然文化遗产—大足石刻。

经过两个多小时的车程，我们终于来到目的地。大足石刻开凿于唐，历经晚唐、五代，盛于两宋，续于明清;主要以佛教造像为主，兼有儒、道造像;分为宝顶石刻和北山石刻。我们决定观看宝顶的石刻。主持宝顶建造的是南宋人赵智凤，历时70年之久才完成，它以万寿寺为中心，有大佛湾、小佛湾等，共有摩崖造像近万尊，造像、装饰、排水、采光……都注重形式和意境之美。

我们先到万寿寺去参观，只见寺内古树蔽日，十分清凉。寺院较小，逛出来就能看到石刻群。远远望去，那摩崖造像映入眼帘，处处是菩萨、观音，仪态充满了女性的华贵和端庄。

千手观音金碧辉煌，那一千零七只手臂向四周伸展，参差不齐，错落有致;神态富丽安详，显出盛世的繁华，使我仿佛又看见了春晚节目“千手观音”。据说观音法力无边，能解除大众的疾苦，因此每年观音的生日，都有很多人来烧香朝拜。

“牧牛道场”是一组有关民间传说的石刻，描述的是人们驯牛的场面。

石刻人物鲜明，栩栩如生，场景生动活泼。我最喜欢的还是园觉洞，该洞高600米，宽900米，有佛像52尊，充分体现了古代高超石刻的技术。

大足石刻真是祖国古代石刻艺术的精华!
